Josh sent me a bunch of photos from the last few months that he took with his phone. One of my friends from Chile was visiting California and staying with one of my Peruvian bodyboarding friends. I went down to San Diego a couple of times and got some super fun waves with them. Somehow, I was also convinced to buy a new bodyboard. Its a 38" instead of 40" which is a huge difference in bodyboard sizing. I got to try it out on the floor of Josh's house (since then, I've used it a bunch of times and its pretty awesome, although i THINK i like science better).

Josh also has been venturing into bodyboard world every once in awhile. Unfortunately, I am pretty bad at picking out good spots to LEARN bodyboarding. We do get to have some relaxing beach days though when we get to the beach and realize it isn't a good day for bodyboarding.

We have also been exploring some new climbing spots, although often it is hot and there are attack horseflies. Or just hot. Or hot and chossy. So exploring has been fun, climbing has been limited (not to mention Josh is still recovering from broken foot and tango lessons hasn't been helping). Josh prepared for the summer sun and heat...

Here's Josh bailing on a very, very chossy route (he wants to go back and do it next time though when its less hot).

To protect me from the very very loose attack rock I got to use my new climbing helmet thanks to Josh and his mom (my birthday present). Its a women's specific model and definitely more awesome than the men's version.
I have also been doing a lot of running because I plan on pacing Dave at the Angeles Crest 100 next weekend. I did a training run for pacing AC with the training for AC runners. We did an awesome 26mi run from Chilao to Chantry down to Sierra Madre (well, two of us did, another runner was picked up at Chantry and three of them ran 46 miles). I have discovered that the doctor at Seattle Performance Medicine is very right...carbohydrates are awesome and eating more carbs makes life more enjoyable. Yay for eating pizza while running! This is what my feet looked like afterwards.

There are also holes in my five fingers which I didn't realize were there until 2 days ago. Lots of dusty trails = lots of dirt. Also, the run was very downhill which I also didn't realize until afterwards. The results was extremely sore legs for about three days after. The day after the run, Josh and I went to Palos Verdes to go for a walk. I had issues with the downhills.

Eventually, I turned around and walked backwards down the hill. And then we found a shark trapped in a tide pool, but didn't know how to get it out. We are hoping it escaped when the tide came up (it should have).
